- Advertisers payment processors and Internet Service Providers  would be forbidden from doing business with infringes based on oversees.

- SOPA also requires search engines to remove 'foreign infringing sites' from their results. (absent in PIPA)

Protect Intellectual Property Act (PIPA) gives US government and copyright owners right to curb access to 'rouge websites' dedicated to infringing or counterfeit goods.

- IP right holders can get directives requiring payment providers, advertisers and search engines to stop doing business with infringing sites.

- The bill is criticized that it may not be enough to protect against false acquisitions, Websites and Media companies worry they could be targeted for unknowingly hosting pirated material.
